About:

Tyre Hill Stables is located on the edge of the pretty village of Hanley Swan which nestles under the Malvern Hills. It is a very tranqil setting for the horses, whilst at the same time being conveniently close to the M5 and M50.

Andy Hobb's life and career has been racehorses. Andy started his career in Devon working for David Barons in Kingsbridge. Andy's late father Geoffrey Hobbs, was a keen race follower and it was no surprise that Andy caught the bug. As a very young lad Andy went off to the "university of life" at David Baron's "Wotton Farm Stables." Where between all those laddish pranks he did learn a thing or two about how to train a horse!!!!

Andy has many great stories of Seagram and his 1991 Grand National triumph, Play School and his wins to include The Hennessey Gold Cup,The Welsh National and The Irish Gold Cup.Topsham Bay 's two Whitbreads Gold Cups triumphs to name but a few. Andy also spent a spell at the Pipe's before taking out a licence in his own name.

Andy trained 50 winners under rules until he took a sideways step in career and took over a lovely string of pointer belonging to Clive Hitchings. Andy's first year training pointers took Mr Hitchings to leading owner in the country and the yard has had continued success from that point. One of the highlights being Royal Hector's hunter chase win at Newbury following a good run in the Foxhunter's at Aintree the previous year.
