About:

Established over 25 years ago our friendly yard has horses and owners who have been with us since the very beginning when we converted the former pig farm into the present equestrian centre. We give lessons in our small, friendly riding school on well behaved horses and ponies and take liveries of all types including holiday cover. Hacking straight onto bridleways. We still have customers who have kept their horses with us for over 26 years ever since we started the stables. This is because unlike some other DIY livery stables the owner Pamela Duker (formerly Gula-Walker) is not only a qualified Intermediate Stable Manager (BHS Stage 4) but has a lifetimes experience with horses. Over the years she has not only competed in top level showing, competing at Horse of the Year Show and other National Championships, but also show jumping, dressage and carriage driving trials. This means that you have constant access to advice, experienced help and support when you need it. The grassland management is excellent - no rough patches and weeds in these paddocks! A worming programme is in place with worm counts done annually, the vet visits every month to treat any problems without a visit fee, the farrier comes every fortnight and a feed merchant delivers once a week. All extra services such as turning out or mucking out are charged only as and when you need them. All stables are rubber matted and shavings and haylage are available to purchase on the yard at competitive prices. All stables have automatic water drinkers. At night there is a low level light on the yard for safety and security. Turn out is all year round in small groups in the winter paddocks and larger groups in the summer fields. Mares and geldings are not mixed. All fencing is well maintained, some post and rail, some hedges and the rest is special horse mesh with an electric top wire. Automatic water troughs to all fields. Hacking is straight out onto a bridleway and there are numerous different rides to go on of varying lengths. There is also a well maintained all weather floodlit arena 20m x 40m with jumps available. It is surrounded by tall hedges which gives shelter and privacy. Storage areas are provided for each livery for bedding and food and in the tack room for rugs and grooming kit etc. A kettle is available to make hot drinks.
