Church House Farm is a BHS Approved livery yard, situated in Woodham Mortimer, near Maldon, Essex; an idyllic location nestled in the heart of the Essex countryside, and away from passing traffic. Church House Farm Livery is owned and operated by Bob who is himself a keen rider. Bob takes great pride in maintaining the yard to the highest of standards. Yard Manager Alice takes care of the day to day running of the yard, and provides full care for the horses. There are 75 acres of excellent grazing, direct links to bridlepaths and beautiful, panoramic views over the surrounding farmland; for horse owners the location is certainly an attractive benefit. Many of the facilities have been purpose built providing clients with an excellent range of resources at their disposal...there's even a washing machine for all those grubby numnahs and boots! With the convenience of modern purpose-built facilities, the small dedicated team are able to offer a first-class service and accommodate the individual needs of clients wherever possible. We offer a full-livery service with a choice of straw or shavings bedding. Full Livery: Feeding and haying, Turning out and bringing in, Daily mucking out, Evening skip out, Rugs changed as required, Feet picked out daily, Exercise on walker during Winter, Full use of all facilities, Secure alarmed storage for tack and equipment, Individual rail for rugs, Access to washing machine, Parking. Feed: Feeding requirements are discussed prior to arrival, most horses are fed from our stock supplies, but individual needs can be catered for by arrangement. Shelving is available for supplements, apples and carrots etc. please supply your own and we will be happy to add them to your horses feed as required. Hay: All of the hay and haylage is grown on-site and the rest is sourced from a trusted local supplier, ensuring a consistent standard. Only hay of the highest quality is fed and storage is all under-cover. Hay is provided at regular intervals. Turning Out: We operate a different system of turnout for summer and winter but all horses are turned out and brought in daily unless it is not safe or practical to do so. Included in this service is the changing of any rugs, fly masks, boots etc that may be required. All horses feet are picked out after they have been out at grass and fly-repellents can be spayed on the horses during summer. We now have surfaced winter turnout paddocks. Mucking Out: All the stables have rubber matting with either a straw or shavings bed; these are mucked out daily and freshened up with clean bedding.
