About:

The philosophy underpinning Just Equus is that there is no one particular approach to horsemanship that is better than another. Instead, a "tool box" of methods and techniques can be tailored to the individual horse/owner partnership. These contribute to the development of a partnership based on leadership, communication, respect and responsibility.

All methods and techniques are developed from an understanding of communication, equine psychology and behaviour, human psychology and behaviour and work with the horses natural instincts not against them. Our approach draws upon a range of approaches to horsemanship including natural horsemanship, allowing techniques to be applied according to the individual circumstances of the horse/owner partnership.

Just Equus was founded by Caroline Holterman, holder of the Monty Roberts Preliminary Certificate in Horsemanship. Caroline has over thirty year's of horsemanship experience. She began riding at the age of 3 years and has been involved with horses all her life. Caroline has worked in a variety of positions within the equestrian world including equestrian centres, riding schools and dressage yards, as well as being a volunteer for Riding for the Disabled Association and a Horse Rescue Centre.
