Our practice is committed to providing high quality veterinary care for horses, ponies, donkeys and farm animals. We are based in rural north Oxfordshire but cover a wide area extending from Birmingham in the north to Oxford in the south, and Northampton in the east to Worcester in the west.
There are many different reasons for keeping horses, leading to a diversity of requirements needed from a veterinary practice. We look after every type of horse, pony and donkey from top class racehorses, competition horses and polo ponies to children’s ponies, broodmares and retired field companions.
The benefits of being a referral practice in addition to being a first opinion, general practitioner practice is that between us, we have a wealth of experience and expertise. Even so, learning is an ongoing process and all of our vets undertake regular continuing professional development to keep up to date and to learn new techniques and treatments from other veterinary experts.
As with most equine veterinary practices, we run our own “out of hours” services. There is only one number to call, night or day and there is always one of our vets on duty all night with a surgical and nursing team on standby if needed. We are well equipped to cope with emergency surgery when required.
Having operating facilities on site has saved the lives of many horses that would otherwise have had long journeys to find an equivalent service. We are one of the only practices in the area to be able to perform emergency colic surgery when needed.
