About:

At Lilly Hall Farm, home of Ed de Giles Racing, we aim to provide a first class service to all of our owners and racehorses in training. Horses are individuals, and at Ed de Giles Racing they are treated as such, all receiving specialist attention in order to maximize their potential.

Ed has a professional, dedicated and enthusiastic team behind him who all share his passion for creating a top class and successful yard. It is very important that owning a racehorse is an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all and we believe that it is essential that our owners are kept up to date with all aspects of the training progress of their horses. Not only is Lilly Hall Farm a racing yard, it is also our home in which owners are very welcome.

After an early morning start watching the horses on the gallops, we would be delighted to discuss the progress and future plans for your racehorse over a hearty breakfast!

Ed started his racing career with two years as assistant trainer to Nick Gaselee in Lambourn. He then moved into ownership, buying his own horses, including Group 1 winner Markab. He obtained his licence to train in December 2010 and is now in his third flat season, having won £300,000 in prize money, and £40,000 in prize money over the jumps.

The yard has an excellent strike rate comprising of 40 winners to date, of which 35 were on the Flat and 5 were over jumps. A lot of the horses he has purchased have improved significantly and turned a good profit for his owners, both with prize money and enhanced value.

The flag bearer for the yard is currently Kingsgate Choice, who started with him rated 80 and is now rated 109. As quoted by Timeform Kingsgate Choice is 'a credit to his upwardly mobile trainer'.
