About:

Racehorse Trainer Michael Dods trains at Denton Hall Stables situated in a quiet village just 4 miles outside of Darlington in peaceful County Durham countryside. It is ideally placed to reach all of the northern racecourses including Newcastle, York & Haydock Park and this helps reduce travelling costs.

Michael is assisted by his hard working wife Carole, Yard Manager Steve Alderson and an experienced and dedicated team.

Facilities: Denton Hall Stables are set in 540 acres of tranquil County Durham countryside which is ideal for training thoroughbred racehorses. There are three gallops available to train the horses; a 5 furlong all weather woodchip, a 6 furlong all weather sand gallop and a 7 furlong grass gallop. A pre-parade ring has been built to allow the horses to warm up prior to doing their gallops work. There is a viewing tower at the top of the gallops allowing owners to watch their horses working.

The yard is capable of stabling around 70 horses. It has two modern horse walkers, newly built washing bays, a set of starting stalls to train young horses prior to their racecourse debuts together with turn out paddocks and a turn out pen.
