About:

Ideally located in the picturesque village of Pulborough in West Sussex, Coombelands Stables is within easy reach of ten of the best race courses in the country, including Ascot, Sandown, Epsom, Kempton Park and Goodwood. The daughter of famous race horse trainer, Guy Harwood, Amanda Perrett and her husband Mark Perrett took over the training licence at Coombelands Racing Stables in 1996. Since then Amanda and the team have trained over 600 winners of races in Europe and have had runners as far afield as Dubai, Hong Kong, Australia and America.

The dedicated team of staff working with Amanda Perrett are all passionate about delivering the highest quality of care to the racehorses at Coombelands Stables to ensure they reach their full potential. Established in 1965, Coombelands Racing Stables has evolved into one of the finest private racehorse training establishments in the world. With 150 acres of maintained gallop and farm land surrounding the stables which can be irrigated, four all-weather, turf gallops, numerous cantering areas ideal for winter, an equine swimming pool, indoor canterway and outdoor riding school, we can guarantee outstanding private racehorse training facilities.

The facilities at Coombelands Stables have been designed to complement all seasons, with a computerised irrigation system ensuring our race horses can train during the flat race season. We also have our banked turf American bend which is used to train horses that may race abroad as well as educating the youngsters to turn at speed for the European tracks.

Our all-weather gallops range from six to eight furlongs in distance and the varying contours of land at Coombelands Racing stables provide a challenge for every race horse that we train. Each gallop has a woodchip surface, which is rolled regularly during the day and is re-laid every three years. This provides an even and forgiving base for the horses to work on. The tracks are also wide enough to allow three horses to work abreast.
