Downside Farm is managed by Craig and Marilyn who have over 20 years experience working in the equestrian industry, including riding schools, racing, show jumping, medical/veterinary and livery management experience. This establishment has been a small livery yard for over ten years, but was expanded in 1999 when the Barlow family took over the ownership in the summer of 1999. Since then the services and facilities offered have now expanded even more including recent British Horse Society Approval, this ensure a high standard of care for all equines. Craig has over 15 years experience within the equestrian industry; these experiences include riding schools, polo ponies, racing yards, livery yards and veterinary/medical equestrian experiences. Craig is currently working towards his BHSAI and still practices as a registered paramedic and instructor. Our livery yard includes the following facilities: Stables with under cover areas for storage, Easy access to The Downs, Weekly food delivery, Large stock of straw, hay and shavings, Over 60 acres of fields, Mares and Geldings separated, 24 hour turnout, CCTV security system and sensor alarms, Fully lit yard, Fully alarmed heated tack room, Heated rest area with tea/coffee facilities, Regular interval worming programme, Riding club a short hacking distance from the yard, Predator ‘Muck picking machine’, Residential yard, Cross-country/schooling paddock, Foaling Box with CCTV, Qualified BHS Staff available for advise and tuition, Horse Transport, Clipping services, Rest & Recuperation, Buying & selling.
