About:

I am recognised as one the most experienced and professional equine dental technicians in the UK, with almost 20 years experience in equine dentistry.

I passed the first BEVA / BVDA exam at Edinburgh Veterinary University in 2001. I am :

  • BAEDT - Equine Dental Technician
  • British Equine Veterinary Association BEVA Approved
  • BEVA Examiner
  • British Veterinary Dental Association BVDA Approved
  • BVDA Examiner
  • Founding member and current Chairman of The British Association of Equine Dental Technicians.

I recognise and cherish the work of Professor Paddy Dixon who brought together Equine Dental Technicians from around the UK to improve and standardise the profession. I have passed the examiners appraisal in 2003 and am a senior examiner for the British Equine Veterinary Association and The British Veterinary Dental Association's Equine Dental Technician Exams.

Performance dentistry and equilibration is of the utmost importance for any horse which is ridden or driven. Properly done with skill and judgement, it allows the horse to respond rather than react to the hands of the rider or driver, it will minimise fussiness in the mouth, and through improved communication will allow the horse to perform at his best.
